- : Yes it does. It's pretty cool. In the layout manual they
- : have a quick sample kind of tuorial thing.
-
- : Basically you load up 4 cubes and parent them to make a basic
- : arm structure. Then you add a null object as a 'goal' and as you move
- : it around, the end of the arm actually 'reaches' for the goal object.
- : You can then create key frame using this and animate.
-
- : The arm will actually bend as you move the goal object toward it
- : etc.... I think if you use this with bones it will be very slick.
-
- : You could make snake like object and by setting a goal the
- : body would actually coil and recoil for you.
-
- : One note, I only played with it a little but when the arm
- : bent it seemed kind of difficult control. That is if I move the goal
- : closer to the arm, it might bend up or down depending as to how I
- : had the goal object... I am not sure if you can move roate objects
- : inbetween the base and the goal but it would make sense.
-
- : Basically it seemed kind of random as to the exact position
- : the arm would take. Think of how many ways an arm could actually bend
- : to account for where the base was and where the end had to be.

- Is there an ability to set constraints on each of the arm segments? This
- would prevent the "elbow" from bending in the wrong direction.
-
- I'm interested in purchasing Lightwave but am still waiting a bit longer
- for all the fallout to hit the floor :)
